In the post by Kkbait on 1.65 Bridgers, and other questions on various trap sizes and their best use, it's no wonder how confusion results on the various trap sizes. I thought, because of faulty information, that #3 Montanas were actually a #3 trap when in fact they are closer to a #2 trap in size. My mind just registered on the #3 part and without one to look at, I just assumed it was bigger. Also ,I have looked at the #1 3/4 Duke and I really can't see any difference in them and the #2 Duke. The old #1 1/2 Montgomeries are smaller inside than a Victor #1 1/2 coil. This isn't just confined to footholds either, as Duke 330's are nearly an inch shorter than Victor 330's. Does it bug anyone else that the trap suppliers mostly just list the outside jaw spread and then you have to guess at the inside spread ?

think they call it marketing......more bang for your buck
very little difference between some of the no.2 round jaws and the 1.75's, think one or two 1.75 models are actualy a hair bigger than the 2's......tends to fire a person up, but hey dont go bashing or openly proclaim it to the person who got their buck banged.............jim

Bobber: Learned my lesson years ago, ( when I liked to trap the smelly coyote ) I sent to the Pioneer Trap C0. for several dozen #3 Longsprings. When they arrived they were to big for N.Y. State land trapping. I sent them back at MY expence. From that date I dont buy----- until I get the ruler out.
