Talk about tha ADC and whats going to be left. I cant find it. This place is supposed to be to disscuss. what is written[said] should stay here. How can we get anywhere when we have to start at the beginning again? Ed If feathers get ruffeled; So be it. Think about it, I [we] stand to lose 6.5 million acres to set traps the way I have set them in what was deemed to be the most humane way to harvest fur. There is no dogs, people or anything else. and now I am faced with maybe an enemy within

I hear 'ya Ed, I don't know what happened to the post in question but you are right, we need to discuss these issues now before it's too late. I know some had wanted to submit a suggestion to the DEC about making this only mandatory on public land, well that would probably end the conventional use of 220's anywhere inside the the blue line. I believe that if anything, they should place some sort of a restriction on baited buckets within so many feet from any maintained trail on public land. By taking away the best set's for fisher, natual cubbies, you will be forcing trappers to use sets that aren't nearly as effective or humane or possibly bringing up a theft issue with a live fisher jumping around for all the world to see. It won't effect the way I trap fisher, I use dirtholes almost exclusivly on private property but I don't want anyone to lose the way they trap. The ADC issue with the 220's can be a loophole of sorts and I'm sure the DEC will fix that before the final regulation gets published so we can comment on that too. Ed, please feel free to post any comments you choose, this is the place to do it, I can assure you I won't be deleting anything.
