If you set up a leaning pole set with a say 220 body gripper. The trap is set 4 feet above the ground as the law states. OK It snows tonight 2 feet Would you have to raise trap 2 feet to be legal. Ed This is Hypothetical right now but it will probably happen.

I don't believe so, you have no control over how much it snows. I belive the regulation will read, above ground level, not snow level. Who knows, I guess the ECO would let you know

The way the draft of the regulation is presently written, it reads "ground" and therefore the depth of the snow wouldn't matter, the trap would always be legally set regardless of snow depth. One more reason why the wording of everything involved in trying to get the context of this new regulation correct !
