Hey guys im new here ....i wanted to get some help from you guys on hunting spots for rabbits in NY.. ive been going hunting for big game for about 10 years now but i never been rabbit hunting and i would love to go ....i just got a beagle and i wanted to take him out rabbit hunting but i have no idea as to where a decent hunting spot would be... any info would be greatly appreciated

look for thick cover, such as brushy edges and briar thickets also look along marshy areas. i have luck in old pastures with mixed cover ceaders,brush,juniper bushes. the key thing is exposure to rabbits to get thet hound going,fed it lots of rabbit tracks.

any beagle club or rod and gun there is probly a charecter around one that would be happy to hunt with ya

Not sure where you're located at, but there is a LOT of state land in the Adirondacks that have a healthy snowshoe hare population.

i live in new york city...and i am willing to go that far for a good hare hunt ..but comming back empty handed would be get me real pissed ...but i guess thats why its called hunting

i believe theres a club near westchester. try goin on rabbithunting online or the american beagler.

Heres a beagle club to try- Blue ridge beagle club in New Jersey accesible from route 17. Blue ridge exit is 84 near Gosen thats closer to you. Not sure about membership but maybe they can help ya out.

Manny Stewart coop in Newburgh also has good rabbit cover in spots and is state run. 5600 acres i believe. The only issue is their is also alot of deer there and if the hound isnt deer broke ya might want to be carefull there.
