Anyone tried or using a red LED light for night time predator hunts? I have a few very bright white LED flashlights, but apparently the wavelength of the white LEDs makes using a red filter a poor choice. Red filters will cut out a very significant amount of the light. Red LEDs, on the other hand, are supposed to be capable of doing the job.
I haven't seen any red LED hunting lights, but with the brightness and light weight compared to battery life I can see big advantages to having one, especially a hat mounted style. I use a Lightforce spotlight on my firearm, but a smaller light for scanning may be in my future. Thanks in advance - Eric

No idea, try it out and report on it.... Purchase it at Walmart if you can, if it doesn't work, return it....

I use regular coon light w/ red lense. I find u dont want the light too bright cast too many shadows, w/ just a little light you can still see those eyes from quite a ways.
