For several years Senator Jim Seward has sponsored a bill that would, through Constitutional Amendment, guarantee hunting trapping and fishing as a right in New York State. It seemed unlikely that this would ever happen but this legislation has worked its' way through the process and is nearly ready to go to the Senate floor for a vote. Important News From Dave Miller Senator James Seward's bill #2639 calls for a Constitutional Amendment that would guarantee the right to hunt, trap and fish in New York State. This legislation has been around for several years but, it seemed, with little chance of moving.Suddenly it has appeared on first reading on the Senate Calendar. That means that it could see a vote on the Senate floor any day or maybe never. We should be in full support of this bill. Please call and write or email your Senator and write or email but do not call the following: Senator Joseph Bruno rm 909 LOB Albany, NY 12247 bruno@senate.state.ny.us whether this bill gets voted on or not is largely up to senator Bruno's staff and so that he is aware of our (your) support Senator James Seward rm 917 LOB albany, NY 12247 seward@senate.state.ny.us Senator Seward is one of the best friends that we have in the Senate Messages should not be long. Simply ask these people to support New Yorks 1+ million sportsmen and women by supporting Senator Sewards bill #2639 This needs to be done ASAP Dave Miller
