Could some one be kind enough to post pictures of cable stakes and how to put them in situ? I use my own made from 2mm stainless steel cable with a washer and cotter pin on the end but would like to see what others use.
Many thanks
David

David there are many different kinds, in fact, what you're using is very close to what we call POGO anchors which are fender washers attached to cable. Here's a picture of what I use, they're called Berkshire Heavy Duty anchors... Here is a photo if the completed set-up, which I make up myself with anywhere from 12" - 18" of 7/32" cable. There are driven in the ground, pointed end down and then a short pull is given to "set" the anchor in place as it turns sideways. It takes quite a bit of force to pull these out, sometimes you even have to actually dig them out to retrieve them. they are touted as disposable, but I'm too cheap to leave them in the ground, plus a lot of the land I trap is farmland and the farmers probably wouldn't like all that cable being wrapped up in there equipment when they plow each year

That's great! A very simple idea. I too am very cheap and try to make all my own stuff so if there is a loss or if I have to leave them in situ then there is not too much strain on the wallet...
All the best
