There was a tannery on Dirty Jobs a few months ago. From searching around on the internet, i found it was Richard E. Meyers and Sons tannery in Montgomery on Factory St. The link is www.recordonline.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070717/NEWS/707170348 There is also one in Ronkonkoma NY. THe contact info is Wilderness Fur Dressing, Inc. 30 Remington Boulevard Ronkonkoma, NY 11779 Probably the best thing to do would be talk to your local taxidermist and ask where they send their stuff. Hope this helps. Nick

I didnt send anything this year so I cant vouch for prices. I will say he has always been less than some national tanneries. When sending fur to a tannery you have to pay for shipping to and from the tannery. Something to keep in mind. My guess is mink, muskrat, possum less than $10. Fox, bobcat, coon $10 to $15. Coyote $15 to 20. beaver $20 to 25. Remember, plus shipping. Generally Taxidermist get $40-50 to get a coyote or fox tanned. These are just guesses. He always gives a better price with larger lots of fur. Im so confident in his price/service that I just send to him and he sends fur back with a bill. Call him for a price is the best way. hope this helps. Sounds like this season would be a good one to have some fur tanned by what some of the fur prices I am hearing and seeing. BYW, be sure to flesh your hides. Dont send them in the green.

Tubari International is the only place to go....but, they are in Passaic New Jersey. Call and Mark Berman, the owner, will answer.
They do much of USA Foxx's work, but cannot advertize anymore in the TP&C as Wayne up at Foxx got mad.
I dont have his address and phone here at the house, but PM me if you need it and I can get it on Monday back at my office.
$10.00 coyote tanning last year!
Tell Marc that Zagger sent cha! That will get him talking/opening up.....he is a NJ guy and thinks most people calling him are from the press or anti-trapper types.
Tubari for sure...

Tubari LTD 90 Dayton Avenue Building 4-D West Passaic, NJ 07055 973-779-8600 973-779-8663 Fax Owner: Marc Berman
This shop is right outside of NYC......Marc is a typical NJ guy, but honestly the nicest guy you will ever meet. If you call, drop my name, it will loosen him up and he will open right up.
Coyotes for me were $10.00, but that was for over 25+ hides. Still, the 1-10 pricing is $17.50 for coyotes.
Here's some other 1-10 lot pricing, it gets much cheaper with bigger lots of course:
Beaver: $26.00 Bobcat: $22.00 Fisher: $17.50 Fox $12.50 $7.50 if you have over 25 pelts! Marten: 14.00 Mink: $10.00 Muskrat: $7.00 $4.00 if you have over 25 pelts Raccoon: $9.00
These are last year's pricing, but I bet they are the same now. Call Marc to verify.
They do much of USA Foxx's work.......why not go right to the source?

Here is another one it is only a couple of miles down the road from me I have not used them but had a friend stop and check them out and he seemed impressed with their operation. Do not know their current prices but figure I would post their website address if anyone was interested.http://www.sivkofur.com/

But you CAN beat USA FOXX's pricing.....AND they dont tan the furs themselves, they send them to Tubari!

not trying to start trouble but: if you saw the fox(his 1st) that my buddy got back from usafoxx and heard the ensuing phone call that was placed to them soon after the package was opened you'd ship it to hector at "furs for fun"-wait a while and get a great tan job. he might not answer the phone but he's never screwed up any hides for me.
