Home from surgery. They drained the blood from inside his eye and filled it with oil to hopefully float the retina back into place. Unfortunately there was a lot more damage than they initially thought. The pellet actually went all the way through his eye, causing a lot of “trauma” to the back part of the retina, tearing it. No idea where the pellet went (maybe out through a sinus or still in his face somewhere). This makes it less likely to repair itself. They also removed his lens. If any of his vision is restored, they will put an artificial lens in for him. Doesn’t sound too promising, but Nick is busy looking into a night vision prosthetic eye. LOL! His sense of humor is still there, and he is being an ok patient, although he can get a little bit ornery. Understandable I guess. Thanks again for all of the continued support! Brittany
