One of the frequent posters here had a bad night of hunting last night. The link to a full thread is below - I'll also post a brief clip from that thread. I never met him, but from his posts here and the many kind words on the other site he sounds like a heck of a nice guy. Keep him in your thoughts. "Nick Pallo, Yetihunter, was shot twice last night while fox hunting with a buddy. He is hospitalized waiting surgery this morning. He has over 20 BB's in his head and neck from two 12 gauge shotgun blasts. Waiting surgery on his eye. They thought they knew each others location. His wife posted the information on Bark at the Moon Website, a New York predator forum." Wow, that's not good news. My thoughts & certainly prayers for him & his family for a speedy & full recovery.
Nick did a live calling demo at last years Rondy and has been a supporter of the NY Trappers Forum for quite some time. Many may not know that he is a NWCO and he dervies his living from that. I'm sure that he could use some help at this time because on top of the medical bills that sound like they will be extensive, he won't have any income to sustain himself and his family for a while. It appears that he will the sight in his left eye too. I'd like to set-up a fund for him and I'd like to have someone manage it if possible and once collected, send the funds to Nick & his wife. Please let me know if anyone would like to handle this and I'll make a post to where folks can send their money for Nick.

Nick Pallo Photo Nick Pallo is indeed a great , likable guy and his passion for the Trapping Industry is never questioned. Nick has been on his own nowfor about three years and being a fellow businessman know first hand the financial troubles ahead for Nick and his family. I understand we now have a volunteer to set up the fund please send me your contact info. I made requests for help throughout the NWCO community, and their Wildlife Operators Assistance Fund. Here is a copy of my broadcasted message: This last Wednesday night, Dec 17th, 2008 Nick Pallo a member of NWCOA, The Wildlife Pro Network, and the NY Trappers Forum and known as NWS on Trapperman was shot twice by bird shot from a 12 Gauge gun while fox hunting around 10:30 Pm. Nick was shot on most of his left side of his body and took about twenty pellets in the face and along his neck and the left side of his body. he was lucky since many of the pellets were millimeters from being fatal. His biggest concern is whether or not he will be able to see again. Nick is staying right now at Strong Hospital, Rochester NY and is facing 5-6 more surgeries. He makes his living from nuisance trapping and at best will be out of work for 3-4 months. Nick has a family , wife and a young pre-school child and times will be rough for them for quite some time. Plans are being made to set up a special fund to help Nick and his family get through the next few months and any financial help and prayers are needed at this time. I was able to speak to Nick by phone this morning and he is in good spirits considering the gravity of the situation. He wants everyone to know this was an accident on both his part and his hunting partners fault who mistook him for a fox in the dark. The fox never even took a shot and Nick took all the pellets. A article is on line reporting the hunting accident at www.rnews.com/print.cfm?id=67835 . If you are able to help please contact me, at 760-271-0415. We are presently looking for someone to set up the fund so that it can be given to his family for help at this time. If anyone wants to make a donation with a paypal or credit card, you can go to www.southshoresportsman.com On my home page you will see a spot for donations. Click on that which will send you to paypal. Here, you can make your donation. There is a spot to specify what this donation is for, please put Nick's donation on it so it doesnt get sent to NYSTA instead.

Thanks for doing this Jim. It helps us to donate very quickly. God bless everyone on this forum. I am truly impressed how quickly we have come together to support an outdoor brother. The truest meaning of Christmas is shining in everyone's heart.
