Probably fished right near yah today....Congrats on nailin' the Browns...I didn't fair quite so well...Did see a few fish being landed though! Looked like the River was starting to rise quite a bit by the time we left...Might get really high if it stays warm and keeps raining...

There were a pile of drift boats running under the Oswego Bridge last weekend. My kids and I stopped and watched for about 20 minutes but didn't see any catches. Haven't fished for them in about 10 yrs now. Sure do miss those days sometimes. . . .

My sons and nephew tried one of the smaller tribs between Eighteen Mile and Oak Orchard over the weekend. They lost several trout and only landed a couple of rainbows. Several large fish in the 24-30" range in the streams. Lots of suckers in the creeks too. Best fly was a size 14 sucker spawn tied with orange crystal braid to look like a clump of fish eggs. Everytime they used one of those, they caught fish. I was at one of the fly shops today and they said that small stonefly nymphs (about size 10 or 12) were working too, but we haven't tried that yet. Good Luck!

The mouth of the creeks had to had been open with all the rain we had early and mid-week last week. The smaller tribs here weren't fishable until maybe last Friday. Some of the mouths could be closed up again with the NE wind we had early this week - but I haven't checked and haven't heard. You might try calling some of the tackle or fly shops for info. Olcott has the Slipper Sinker Tackle Shop. Oak Orchard Fly Shop and Orvis in Buffalo keep good track of tribs on this end of Lakes Ontario and Lake Erie. Either should have daily updates on stream conditions.
