what if you set a #160 in a pocket set on a creek for mink and coon... is that legal.... or if the cubby is on the edge of water or creek does the 160 still have to sit back in the cubby 18 inches.....

Trying to get around the law will only lead to trouble. These regulations were designed to help limit the possibility of accidental catches of dogs. Just because it's legal doesn't always make it right and the actions of a few irresponsible trappers are what caused the regulations to be enacted to start with.

i understand that and i am not trying to go around the law. I have a very rocky creek and the mink and raccoon signs are abundant. I am trying to figure out a good set that will take both coon and mink. I cant use any drowning set because the water at most is 6 inches deep. I dont want to use any foothold because last year i had 2 mink ring outs in coon sets and i dont want that to happen again. i am just trying to find a good legal way to catch mink and coon out of the same set because i know they are both traveling that stream and they both are attracted to the same baits. If you have any suggestions i would be more than happy to try them...
