I just got home from work, had to work night shift. Think I'll go out in the morning, then I do not have to worry about falling asleep under a tree.

I froze my arse off.......I mean it was cold. Frost on everything and a strong wind....... Sun was in my eyes..... Dog ate my homework....... Correct, no bird. Roosted a lone long beard on one end of the farm, and with a spotting scope, watched another long beard walk into the woods at dark with three hens. He walked right by the tree I sit at and have killed 3 longbeards at previously. Chose to chase the lone bird. This AM, went to the loner but could see the other spot as well due to being higher on the hill. Like clockwork, the far off bird was in full strut with one hen about 10 feet from the tree I should have been at! My lone bird, while alone in the field, met up with some buddies in the woods, and he was FAR from alone. Jakes and hens and at least him were rockin' at 5:20 AM...... Had my gun up once, since they came pretty close, but did not show themselves. Rarely patient, I actually sat at that one spot until 11AM....figured I was right between known birds, and no other shots were taken by others. Guess I will be sitting by that other tree tomorrow AM. 50/50....went to the wrong beard. Long term, always better off chasing the loners.....IF they are truly alone! MZ

i didn't get to hunt but until 8:15 this morning , It was a cold mother out there , I too chose a lone bird that I roosted last night . To no avail he didn't have much to say this morning and got henned up right after fly down . I heard shots to the west of me that could have been no other than a group of black hats ( if'n you know what I mean) . 13 shots in the same woods , one right after another , sounded like they were shooting at a running deer and maybe they were . LOL , had a ball last weekend w/ my buddies kids though .

Zagman, you need one of my new turkey decoys called the jake intimadator in which the proto type is being finished up in china right now. garunteed to bring the gooblers in to shooting range, if they see it they will come within shooting range it will be on the market for next turkey season dicks has ordered 10,000 and they will sell for about 60.00 dollars for the whole setup.and will be well worth the investment trust me you won't be disappointed. In filming for the advertizement we have taken many doubles and also works great for calling in the yotes while predator hunting.

when all the bugs are worked out, being it just went to china about 3months ago and the tails are being hand stiched right now it maybe awhile before i get onethey said 3 to 5 months because it is a mecanical decoy and they have to make molds to pour the base of this thing with a heavy duty plastic. if you are going to be in herkimer for nta i will bring one of my originals for you to try.
