In years past, the New York State Trappers Association has employed Dave Miller on a part-time basis as a lobbyist supporting the rights of trappers in Albany. A short time ago, the NYSTA BOD approved a full-time position to be known as Executive Director which entailed not only lobbying, but other duties relating to public relations and an increased presence in Albany in support of trapping and trapping related issues. With that position, also came the responsibility of fund-raising efforts to support the position. Basically what it comes down to is that he needs to raise a portion of his own salary. So in an effort to not only help Dave, but ALL trappers of New York we will have on-going efforts on this site to raise money and except donations to support him. Starting in March we will run on-line auctions to help Dave support himself and increase his ability to work you all of us! We will be soliciting donations for the auction from trappers not only here in NY, but across the nation as Dave's services and expertise has also been noted at a national level by the NTA where he works on a part time basis solely from his past successes here in NY. If you would like to contribute to this auction, please contact me either through PM or email and arrangements can be made to gather items for the auction. We will also be excepting cash donations if you prefer that to merchandise and a running tally will be kept on the forum here. The proceeds from the auctions & donations will be presented to Dave and the NYSTA at the NTA NE convention in May. Thank you in advance for supporting a very worthwhile cause.
