There is a more recent issue than that one now....If you subscribe to the paper you'll receive the latest issues a couple weeks before they hit the newstands. At least I always do.

Went out yesterday morning on Fourth Lake again for Lakers...We didn't get anything....Talked to guy who's been up there camping / Laker fishing for two weeks now...He said he's caught about 5-10 fish One being upward of ten pounds....Looked like he was trolling / jigging with lead or copper line....Apparently there was some kind of fish kill up there with many fish of varying species washing up to shore (we saw 1 good size laker belly up out in the deeper water) Here's one of my favorite sights in the whole world.... 5 A.M. Forgot to mention that there were fish...Probably Landlocks feeding on the surface out over deeper water!!

Went up trolling for Lake Trout at the crack of Dawn this morning. Tried Fourth Lake again (Old Forge Area), Tried Running Lake Troll Rigs with various lures & various lures fished plain. No luck on the Lakers. Although I did see a guy hook into something nice Imagine it was a laker. The Majority of fish seem to be in the lakes deepest hole holding near the bottom. They were showing up on the finder from about 65-70 ft over 70-80ft of water. Saw fish feeding at surface the last few times I went up (Surfacing at crack of Dawn over deeper water) so I fished a lake clear wobbler with a worm up on top and sure enough took a Nice Atlantic Landlock Salmon! The Lake was real calm and peaceful until abou 8am. Then a whole FLEET of trollers, Water Skiers, Jet Skiers Ect. Hit the Lake! That's one of the downsides of fishing popular summertime lakes! Surface Temp was 74 degrees! Anyone who wants directions or more info just P.M.

It was about 18" & it had some girth to it. Better yet it's a real good eating fish

Lake Trout seemed to be moving up in the water column on our last fishing trip. They seemed much more aggressive too! Visiting Erikt & his family; They were camping up on Indian Lake in the Adirondacks, We caught a couple laker's up at 45ft down over 60-80ft of water. Marking lots of fish in the 45-55depths. We were running a lake troll rig off of a Dipsy Diver; using a flatfish lure as the trailer. The hot rig was the one fingerlakesfur mentioned in the Ice Out thread! It has a really nice slow wobble and GLOWS!....

Trolled Fourth Lake today 6-10am....Laker's still appearing very deep in the water column; with surfaces temps of 70 degrees! Threw the works at em' but just couldn't get one to take a bite. Was running a Blue/Silver #13 Original Rapala when I connected with this Atlantic Salmon, It was 55ft down over 65ft of water. Debating on whether or not to get it mounted, It was 2ft long!...
