Couple of Buddies & I decided to try a Back Country hike in for Brook Trout to a small mountain lake a couple miles in from Eighth Lake. The Lake was also stocked with Kokanee in years past. I repeatedly told them about how far it was and not to bring a lot of stuff. When we met up they had everything but the kitchen sink with them! Firewood?Case of Beer on Ice? Ect... After the trecherous hike with everything loaded in the canoe; we attempted to load everything into the boat and head for a good shoreline spot to camp....Went about 20 ft out and over she went!! Friend's expensive Cell Phone was ruined & My precious Digital Camera is shot! Finally got on our feet again and managed to get to campsite....Only to have torrential thunderstorms welcome our stay. We decided to stay in the tent and enjoy some Southern Comfort ...Went out this morning and drifted around lake and managed to catch a nice Brook Trout & Lose another....It was a really nice Lake, I'd recommend it to anyone...Lake also has Lake Trout & Browns in it, The wildlife is plentiful in that area also...Lots of Loons doin their thing

Bummer about the electronics I always put stuff like that in ziploc bags when in the canoe. Sounds like a nice spot though, pretty secluded I bet.

I did have Camera in a Zip Loc bag but it Wasn't zipped at the time ... Don't know if Brook Trout tend to have similar Patterns...But the couple I took were down a little deeper maybe 10ft down...We casted shoreline quite a bit with Panther Martins and Phoebes without any sign of fish...There was tons of structure on the shoreline! The Takes I had were on Lake Clear Wobbler & a Worm. Area is very secluded; would recommend to anyone who likes to get back in there. No human structure at all!
