my father owns quite a bit of land and i was thinking about putting out feeders for rabbits and squirrels. these are two animals i love to hunt. what are the regulations on feeding them. can i hunt the feeders or how far do i have to be away from the feeder. i also have about 100 acres of land i can hunt. i was thinking about putting a couple feeders there too.

I'm not sure if you can put feeders out pre-season. And i dont believe you can bait hunt either. but i might be wrong.

from what i thought it was you can't hunt over the bait but you can be sitting near a trail leading to the bait.

You may be getting yourself into a situation that you don't want since it's illegal to "feed" deer. Any grain, etc. placed in the woods could be taken as feeding deer.

What you would be feeding rabbits and squrrils would be the same thing deer would like most likely

according to NY state regulations it is illegal to place feed any place it is accessible by deer even if you are not targeting them.
