Didn't see a single deer all day. Did see about 12 turkeys though. Didn't see any deer till about 2 this afternoon, hasn't been a good start to rifle season so far.

Nice spike. I love spikes.
The first day I didn't see anything in stand but did a drive with some of the guys in the area and they missed one and shot a small doe. One of my family members got a 3 pointer on the farm we hunt so I hunted there in the evening. I saw nothing but my dad saw a few does and a buck at last light as he was leaving.
This morning I hunted the farm again and saw a doe and a button buck at 8:00am. I passed on them cause they were heading towards my girlfriend. I called her to tell her and could hear the excitment in her voice. She said they came out infront of her but never had a shot cause of the overgrowth in the field. The hung around for maybe an hour and passed my dads stand at 5 yards and head towards my girlfriend again. They got about 50 yards and entered the woods never giving her a shot.
There's always next week.

I had a fun time pretty much just like that..Around 8:30 had a small doe become behind my stand.. its kinda open (logged so a briar over growth with young woods around) and i was wacthing her.. Then i seen 3 more does in the young thick woods 2 my left i seen them bed down. Mean while i thought about jumpinig on the doe and cacthing a ride home.. That doe left. I wacthed the other deer stand up and a little 1 oiut of that group came out into the briar pacth was eating snow and leaves.. She turned her head to the woods and ran to her momma.. Then they started to scatter and i see the 4 deer.. 3 does came walking out of the thicket and walked out behind my stand and they were play fighting. they walked off.. I seen a deer come up and sniffed the bed the doe was lying in.. Then he turned around and went toward my woods and he stopped and i could see some antler and he stepped out and it was all over with.. A nice 60yrd shot with my 20ga

I had a GREAT weekend, snow down the neck many times. O yeah did I mention I didnt see anything with four legs on Saturday. I did see one deer Sunday night at 5:00, full size doe, but passed. Going back to the cabin tonight to pull stands and head home. On a better note my little brother took a spike Saturday at 7:30am and saw a couple Sunday morning. Good luck to everyone who still are heading out there like me.
