I would look into .243 models. A wide range of bullet selection and good, flat shooting. Plenty for coyotes and that big buck. I believe .270's are overkill for coyotes to much damage if your selling. For coyotes and fox I own a .223. I deer hunt in Chaut. county - seemingly the only no rifle for deer county around. Also, during deer season in chaut. rifles cannot be used for coyotes. So your fortunate to multi-task with one gun. Hey don't for get to practice with each round. Good luck.

I use a .243. I have shot 3 bucks with it. The first to dropped on the spot hit in between the spine and shoulder blade. The 3rd was a brisket shot. he ran all the way back to the road and dropped 30 yards from the truck. Good thing cause I was way back. I kept pushing him cause I had to work that night but he left a blood trail Ray Charles could follow.
