Went yote hunting last weekend with a fellow coonhunter and his dogs.. What a blast!! A guy shot the first yote at 200yrds running full speed.. Rolled it over with his 243 wssm a.k.a THE CANNON.. We chased another yote and it came by me .. let one of my hornady vmax polymier tips after tthat ibe.. I clipped it and it must of not been injured Becaouse we chased it the rest of the daY!! another guy got a shot at it at 10yrds with a 22 mag and missed.. It was a nice blk yote to.. Went sunday to..Chased a fox and if i had my hmr could of pluclked it at 200yrds.. instead i had my 12ga with 00buck..Chased another yote and a man shot that one.. I was busy skinning yotes for the man..10 in total i did..Going out saterday and hoping for another chance!

We have a group of people from the central square/West Monroe area that have been hunting coyotes for as long as i can remember...i am 22 and i started going with my grandfather around 8 years old. Back in the mid 1990's it was nothing for us to get 20-30 a year...back then no one trapped anymore so they would just throw them in a pile and in the spring bury them. Once i started trapping i used to take all that we shot and skin and sell. The past 5 years the group has somewhat fallen apart. I went to college, and havent really gotten back into it. It is a great time though...i love listening to the hounds...getting in the spots where the coyotes always run... I'll have to dig up a picture and post it on here with some of the hounds and coyotes that we got. Only thing that beats hunting coyotes is running fox...everyone always say coyotes are smarter...but there is def. a difference when running a fox than a coyote...we have had fox run the railroad tracks (hounds cant smell the sent on the steel)...very smart animals.

I went to SUNY Caton...trapped while i was up there too. I actually picked the college not only for its nationally credited criminal justice program but beacuse it was right on the grass river and surronded by farmland!

They have the best diary program by far... However...the equipment that they use is state of the art and unless you have some major cash...start looking for grants. Parolor is the way to go...however my uncles are still using the pipeline...with a chest bulk tank...now they have bulk tanks that are standing...you can actually climb in these to clean...very interesting, but a lot of cash....and you wonder why they family farms are going out??? Hopefully with this biofuel plant thats being completed in Fulton, NY will help some of the local farmers with crops sales...we might be able to see a turn around for our local dairy farmers.
