Just recieved a new caller, a Cass Creek digital hand held caller. Got it out of cabelas for like 21 bucks. Going to try it this weekend on coyotes. It has jackrabbit, cottontail, 'yote howl, pup yips, and fawn in distress. Will post results of first night out with it tomorrow night. ;D

I have one. Never had luck with it. On my wish list for christmas is the one made by Johhny Stewart with a wireless remote for $39.99. It has a rodent, woodpecker, cottontail, and puppy cries on it.

Hey guys, last summer I bought a Fox Pro FX4 caller and haven't been able to try it yet. Was wondering if anybody had experience with this unit. It seems to be well built. I even talked the wife into a Remington 1187 camo sp 3 1/2 mag. shotgun. I want to take my son this weekend. What size shot do I need? What time of day is best? Thanks Mike

I'd go with the Hevi-shot 'yote loads. They're better than lead! I'm no expert but just before sunup & just before sunset are better than during the day usually. I've tried night calling a couple of times, but haven't done very well. I've read that gray's respond very well after dark but I guess I wasn't doing it right

Well, went out with the new call and had no luck. But, it's really hard to hunt where I do with out some snow on. When and IF we get some snow I'll go out and try the call again.

I tried the electronic caller and mouth blown. With the same results. It's been warm and rainy here, when it should be cold and snowy. The 'yotes don't seem to have move to far for food. We haven't even seen alot of tracks around either.

i can honestly say that the predator hunting was definatley worse after the snow and cold came , much to what everyone believes.I hunt almost evrynite during and that is the time of plenty.

I know that this year was a bad year were I hunt. I only went a handful of times ten tops, but we didn't see any tracks while out birdhunting or very many coyote track while land trapping this year. I did notice a few fox tracks while setting traps, but it was real early in the year. Also didn't hear any 'yotes this year. The pas few years, we could hear them just about every night. OH WELL!!
