I suppose you canine trappers are loving this warm weather, but for an Adirondack fisher trapper it is awful. I don't want to have any animals spoil and get green bellys Consequently I have cut way back on how many sets I have out. Can't see running all over creation, burning gas, and spoiling baits until the weather chills back down. I know that I'm losing trapping days, but this is my choice. Not even many deer hunters out, mostly on weekends. Wish trout season was still open, I would go fishing.. Oh well, maybe this weather is Rockwood's fault too.

I got 2 fishers, 1 male and 1 female. Had to skin and flesh promptly so no green bellies. Also got 2 coyote, 1 red fox, and 2 grey fox. I only have 10 sets out lol, I guess that's a pretty good "catch ratio" (of the which I have never given a thought lol!).

The female I just got the other day, perfectly furred and PRIME. The male was a couple of days before, well furred but pelt not prime.

And I am so rushed lately that I never checked my bait/lure bag before I went to make those same fisher sets that produced (sad, only 10 sets out since the 29th and took 4 days to make them all) so I only had grey fox gland lure and skunk scent with me, oh well there goes the rule book!

... this warm weather, but for an Adirondack fisher trapper it is awful... spoiling baits ... Certain baits and attractants keep better in warm weather than others, and there's always sodium benzoate and methylparaben.
