Well the year has sucked so far, I'm sure everyone agrees. But we now get to practice social distancing like we've always done. Just over a week away...you guys all ready? Anything special planned? Myself I will run a modest line, fur prices being what they are and a bad knee that awaits insurance approval for a replacement. Been turned down twice now, might have to settle for a scope job to buy a couple years. Might spend more time in a tree stand than normal, tonight was my first sit of the season, only a look at a nice buck in rifle range. Traps are ready, spent the day visiting my landowners, catching up on their year so far, hearing their usual remarks about coyotes are out there as well as the fox. I hope for nothing but yotes this year, I'll have a hard time killing a $5 fox. You guys? Plans?

Dryest year around here ever. Probably dig my first dirtholes and that will change. Still going to run a small mixed line. Got my permission from a few land owners and am ready to go. Already got my doe with the bow. Probably wait till crossbow to go out again. I'm a meat hunter so whatever is legal fill my freezer. Hopefully Target skunks, coyote ,fox, coon. Letting go small possum and small coon. Trying more tanning this year and having a few things made for the family. Take care

Enjoy your vacation Tony, sounds like a full few weeks. Dale, sounds like you got a plan in place. Only a few more days, good thing it wasn't this week with the rain we've gotten last few days here, would have been work with the remakes. Looks like mixed precip towards mid week next week. I'll probably go at it a couple weeks, then spend some time with the bow hunting the rut, unless my evening stands get lucky. Fur prices being what they are, and covid ever lurking along with a depressed fur market, I won't push it, just enjoy the time outdoors.

Trappermac Hope your bow hunting stands pay out and you enjoy some time in the stand. I'm not pushing too hard trapping either, but am going out to have a good time. I just love this time of year.

Pulling in some fox and a couple nice skunks. Just got a short line out now. Will be extending my line this weekend. As expected dealing with heavy mud. No rain all summer now rain everyday lol. Oh well I enjoy it just the same.

Caught a coyote and a fox first day, 2 possums today. Wet everywhere and just getting worse. Seems to be par for the course when trapping starts in WNY!! Put in 10 more sets today to try and hit some new ground.

I swear he turns on the spigot every year around this time. LOL

Set out some dps 2 days ago to see how the coon were looking. Fur is priming up well and none I skinned were blue. Kept 6 2X and up let little ones go. Will be setting for them next week a little heavier.
