All set here mac, going to run a few k9 sets on way to work. Then hit the water when season opens. The only thing I’m lacking is a free open schedule.....such is life.
Best of luck guys

I’m ready as I’m gonna be, as long as the body holds up. Have elbow surgery scheduled for December so hoping I can make it through. Picked up a couple new properties for coyote and beaver. Be nice if the weather cooperated for a while too. Good luck everyone! Have fun and stay safe.

Am ready here also, picked up a couple new properties, one a large farm (LLC) that I feel fortunate to get. Work will still get in the way, so gotta run what I can check before work. But partially retired now, so just three days...they won't let me go..lol. But still gotta run what allows me to run before work. Hoping to hit some swamps in Nov. for some rat trapping. Been a while for that. Also hope to get some venison in the freezer. Good luck guys, post some pics so we can keep this tradition here alive.

What’s the easiest way to post pics here? Used to have photobucket but don’t know what to use that lets me get them on here easily. Any help is appreciated, hopefully I’ll have some to post.

I'm all set. But still want/need a trap setter for the No. 4 Bridger longsprings that I have - yes, they're the max legal size (inside jawspread) for land in NY. Checked them, even asked a DEC rep at this year's convention to take the short walk with me to a vendor to make sure lol... I can get one set across my knee, but after that - I run outta steam. No I am NOT a wimp, just getting older maybe. I'm 6'-2", 220-something pounds, but even standing with all my weight on one spring it just compresses enough, can't get both at one time to compress that way. So I'm going to give the "No. 5 Bridger Long Spring Setting Tool" a shot. Strictly for coyotes. Yeah, I know, I have other traps like KB 5.5's and Bridger No. 2 dogless coils that have caught and kept them, but there's just something about double longsprings for which I have a nostalgic soft spot. Maybe TOO soft, lol! Plus I "MAY" have re-opened an old opportunity to trap a place in 5H, about 400 acres that I used to be able to trap and hunt from the early 70s up through the early 90s; fox-mink-beaver-OTTER!-fisher-bobcat-marten, good sign for all. Still hopeful!

Oops, oh yeah - forgot about a LOT of muskrat there, too on a couple of streams and 3 ponds. About 1-3/4 miles of water frontage on the north and west borders of the property. And forgot to mention 61-years-old but still not a wimp!

Sounds good Tim! I like your plan with the double long springs as nostalgic! Work got extended in the north county for a few weeks...planning to take advantage of the situation and get some traps out. Also planning to set a short line in northern ADKs for a weekend while doing a little deer hunting with my flinter. Was up last weekend...very extreme wilderness for NY! My hunting partner had two moose on either side of him...no deer.
Good luck! Dino

All I have left to do is put trap tags on my new 2 dozen. They are painted and dipped in FMJ. I have a problem with letting 2 dozen new traps rust just to dye them. Hopefully this takes care of that and still produces.
