I'm just so sick of the "yes " men! If DEC told us the moon was made of cheese, they would ask what kind. The Lynx reintroduction was just one example of educated fools! The abandonement of Adirondack lifesyles and values along with the lack of a common sense species management plan only underscores our resentment, particularly when DEC refuses to listen. Yet we're the bad guys. What about the bobcat plan with mostly opposing public opposition. They went ahead and did what they wanted, regardless. A number of years ago I heard Gordon Batcheller warn about newer biologists coming out of colleges, trained by ultra liberal professors, that had no no core values. Hunting, trapping, and fishing no longer important. Had the lynx taken hold we would be in a fine mess today. Look at the changes in the trout stocking, from mostly brook trout to rainbows and browns in the Adirondack plans.Look at the lack of proper forest or wildlife management.Look at the deer situation. I, for one, believe there is a subtle long range plan to make the Adirondacks into a National Park and drive the natives out. Crazy? Maybe, but when Cuomo pulls another middle of the night deal banning all fly rods don't be surprised!

"A number of years ago I heard Gordon Batcheller warn about newer biologists coming out of colleges, trained by ultra liberal professors, that had no no core values. Hunting, trapping, and fishing no longer important."
Case in point ""Environmentalist Rainer Brouck spent years studying the habitat before any of the animals in the biologists' plan were released into the Adirondacks. Even though it failed miserably- He is still optimistic..
"It was a very, very big project that took a lot of effort," said Brouck, who is a professor at the state University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry in Syracuse.""
A liberal professor churning out educated liberal clones
And an EXCELLENT point on the bobcat plan- So why expand that and cut back the fisher and.... Otter plan... What otter plan??
