have a junk smoker and was wondering since ive caught a bunch of coon on smoked bbq sauce alone how effective would smoking a heaping pile of sunfish and perch and some suckers with something real sweet like some apple..how would i go about storing smoked fish..should i remove guts before i smoke them..just bored waiting for trapping season to get here figured why not maybe come up with the next best thing lol..thanks guys

That sounds like a great idea! I think you should remove the guts first, then the smoke will get in the fish more. I think the coon will love the sweet smell of smoked fish! Actually, they might love anything smoked so if your adventurous enough, don't stop at just fish, they might like some cast off meat cuttings too.

ya planned on removing the guts first..figured why not it sounded like a good idea so why not try it..you guys have any tips for storing smoked fish..ill be doing it over summer just curious on how i would store them so they dont go bad

Not sure if it will affect the smoke flavor, but freezing (in my opinion) is the best way to preserve fish over the summer. Just thaw them out before you use them.
