Dear Friend, Rub in some powdered Borax to clean off the grease then vacuum out any powder residue. Regards

to help prevent future grease issues (assume were talking coon here) after fleshing i wash all my coon hides with dawn concentrated detergent, not alot, 1/4 tsp to bout 3 gallons of water, alow skins (fur side out) to soak for about 10-15 mins then agitate (i use 5 gallon pale and do bout 4-6 hides per) by hand for 1 min, rinse, dry, put up (if you dont have a tumbler, a shop vac, although time consuming, on exhaust works well, just roll hide in towel fur side out first) eliminates "dripping, beading, or excess" grease while drying, fluffs and cleans the fur, and no need to wipe skins later on, 2 precautions, dont use too much soap as it will remove the natural oils from the fur and they will lose their sheen, second fur must be completely (100%) dry before turning skin side out on board, otherwise you run the risk of slippage, xtra work? sure is but also brings extra $$$$ come time for sales
