I am just getting used to my new necker 600 fleshing knife . I realize the concave side is sharp , and the convex side is not so sharp . I noticed the way the blade was sharpened---beveled from one side , should the bevel on the blade , always be in the up position ? Kinda like you would use a wood chisel--bevel up . I just finnished my 3rd beaver with it , and they came out pretty good . Thanks , Bob

i dont know if it will help you any or not but a friend was helping me to finish beaver pelts and decided the necker symbol should be facing away from the beam rather than towards it....i dont own one but that seems to be the way it works best. Hope it helps
