is the place heated or not, are they turned .talking coon, yotes, fox. my garage is not heated so i have fans blowing on pelts all the time takes about 2 weeks for a yote thats with borax , fox a little sooner i feel the ears & feet as all my canines are with feet on , very hard to get dry, when they are stiff they are ready to be taken off boards, wire wont take as long, if you have heat & good drying area they could be done in a couple of days.

i would check the ears & lips if they are dry then you should be good leaving on the wires longer wont hurt if you have the time & space.then you will know they are dry.

might be mis-reading, but if your tanning the hides then theres no reason to air dry first on stretchers, just adds an extra step having to re-hydrate and in some cases soak in a relaxer

ouch!!!!! 2 fishers!!!!! no sir (unless you have a desired "shape" and you dont plan to "break" the hide after tanning) no need to place on wire stretchers, after tanning, once hide begins to dry, you have to "break" (restretch the fibers) the hide either by hand or in a tumbler, if just air drying, (puttin up for auction) leave on stretcher till hide is stiff (will hold shape) bout 72 hours for my shop conditions (constant 55 degrees)
