Well, i collected castor bags from last year and dryed them out..Blended with glycrine oil, little bit of anise oil, valerine oil, poplar bud oil and some beaver oil sacs..Now how long should i let that mix set for? one of the lures i bought smell just like vics vapor rub..Is that mint giving it that smell or something else? Im just worried about putting my homemade lure out. Dont know if im missing something.. I was thinkin about taking a set or 2 and see how it works...Any help would be appreciated!

The only way to test a lure for effect, is to take in the field and let that animals be the judge. Lure makers have countless hours of tests. Some work , Some dont. I have read that the China anise is the best. Have heard the term China Star Anise but that is what I have read.

Dear Friend, Ordinary anise oil is distilled from the anise plant.......Star anise is processed from the seeds of the star shaped fruit of the anise tree...Star anise is more fragrant than ordinary anise.
