Anyone tincture commercially bought glands?
Since they are "ground and preserved", I'm wondering if the preservative will booger up a tincture.
But, don't they preserve mink and rat glands with salt??? Don't know about canine or cat though...........

The best thing I found to "tincture" canine glands is good urine.
I really feel working with glands you collect yourself makes for a much better finished product than working with glands bought from a big supply house. If I did not have access to my own glands, I would just buy my gland lures already formulated. Night owl has a good red fox gland and you cant go wrong with hawbakers.

Dear Friend, Im not sure why you would want to tincture glands.....Tincturing preserved glands will produce an essence/ odor of the host material at the point it was presrved.....I would suggest Grain alcohol or 100 proof vodka as the solvent and just enough to cover the material, cap tight until the desired odor is achieved and then add glycerin to hold the odor and stop the evaporation of the alcohol..........Salt or sodium benzoate are good preservatives for mink and rat glands......cat and canine glands I would suggest and reccomend mythel paraben. Regards
