Hi there. I had a question and wanted to see what you guys thought before I wasted my time baiting my sets with this.
My roommate had a package of ground beef he forgot about in the fridge. It was in there for about a week. He was throwing it out so I took it. I left it by the heater in the kitchen for a few days and it turned gray on the outside and pink still inside. Has a nice taint smell not rotten.
I took a full shaker of salt and salted the crap out of the meat, and put it in a large mason jar and toped it off with water untill it couldnt soak up any more than added a thin layer of salt on top.
How would this work for a bait? I never tried using ground beef for fox and coyote trapping, but im currently out of muskrat. I will be using this bait, with a fox gland lure, or fox urine. Any ideas if it will work? Should I just use my jar of Gh3 instead? I wanted something cheep and easy to make that doesnt stink everything up like the skunky gh3

Dear Friend, It should work fine....most critters are opportunistic and will take advantage of a free meal......Use a touch of your GH~3 to get there attention if your off location a bit..Regards

For the time we all invest into checking sets daily I would want all the odds in my favor with a quality bait. Papabear is right in his statement but you will eventually encounter an animal where that bait just aint gonna seal the deal. Definately use the GHII with it.
