Last year was my first going after waterfowl. What I'm unsure of and I can't find anywhere is print is the duration a duck stamp is good for. Does it run like a hunting/fishing license, where it is good til the end of september?

No, they're only good til June-it used to be printed on the stamp, not sure if it still is. You need a 2012-2013 duck stamp and HIP # to hunt the early goose season that started last week. www.dec.ny.gov/regs/4047.html#2.30h

Yes you need a new duck stamp to hunt the early goose season but last years hunting license. Make sure you register with HIP and have your HIP# with you. I wright mine on the back of my duck stamp.
