Try this for Reds
4 lbs bacon ends and pieces, ground into hamburger consistency 2 pounds lard 4 oz ground castor 1 pint honey
Get a deep pot and cook bacon, stirring frequently. When bacon is cooked thoroughly, add lard and stir to melt thoroughly. Cook together 10 minutes. Remove from heat. Add honey and stir until thoroughly mixed. Allow to cool to room temperature. Add ground castor and mix thoroughly.
The bait will be quite runny until it sets up at cooler temperatures (usually over night). Make this up no earlier than a week before season to keep it from going rancid

Dear Friends, in a clean quart jar, crumble a 5 oz brick of limburger cheese. add a pint of bacon grease, 8 oz of fish oil {i like rendered trout oil}, fill the remainder {3~4 oz} with honey or glycerin and blend thoroughly. Makes a nice smearable paste....Regards papabear
