Spring has sprung......snow on the ground all over but today saw turkeys strutting, my first robin of the year, and large skeins of Canada Geese flying high and north.

Very strange weather. Amish farmers in Pennsylvania have been making maple syrup since last of January. On February 19 my son had a corn feeder wrecked by a bear, even got to see him. Am seeing robins and bluebirds. Most of my beaver sets are in open water, however I checked out a pond today that was completely iced in; had to use hanging baits. Usually I'm ice fishing from now until the end of March, but Lake George only has waves. Thinking of digging out my Radisson and try for some lakers.

I saw a few Robins in the snow storm this morning while checking traps and none of them looked very happy.
Come north a few miles Zagbagger and you will see a slightly different climate.

Last Friday I had two chipmunks in the yard, Saturday morning we woke up to 14 inches of snow.
Swamps near me are full of geese and mallards, still haven't seen any woodies or mergys...a sign of spring I enjoy. Robins I haven't seen here yet but I don't get excited until I see my first grosbeak in the feeders.

Feeders....man, my feeders were empty this year. Chickadees pretty much it.
Shows you that without snow, birds can do just fine with out you.
Still, surprised no takers on the easy daily free meals.
I usually have a squad of 5-6 Blue Jays that take over and make life hell for the other little guys.
