O.k., Here is the question. I am thinking about investing in buying land in the Northern Zone for Trapping/Hunting. But I am not sure of the "best" place and most bang for you buck. Does anyone know of any places or countys to start looking in. Also what would be the ideal land, ex. mostly forest, flat land, open planes, streams, etc.
I want to thank you guys for all the help in advance!!

Worthless marsh land with the main inhabitant being the lowly muskrat.

You'll want to stay away from any areas that have a decent sized lake because many of those areas in the Adirondacks are being bought up by people from downstate & New Jersey an they're building huge $500K+ houses on them and raising the property taxes of everyone around them...

Our family had a little shack in the southern Adirondacks a few years back. Exactly what Wayne stated happened to us. The city folks with money came in and started putting million dollar lakefront homes in the township we were in,up around Caroga Lake and Bleeker. The taxes got so bad it wasn't worth grieving them any longer and my father dumped it, (after a year on the market and for less than half the assessed value).
