I have spent part of the last two days conoeing around in the streams and marshes seeing all the places I could place a trap if the season was open like it is to the east.Mink and muskrats swim right by and pay no attention to the quietly floating conoe.

Funny you should say that... I floated a section yesterday afternoon that was pounded by me and other guys for rats all last season. Looking to do some photo work in specific situations yesterday, and it was too nice a day not to be on the water somewhere. Anyways, saw no fewer than twenty (20) different muskrats swimming around along with hundreds and hundreds of painted turtles out basking. Rats have already moved back in to an area which seemed totally devoid of a single remaining rodent just a few weeks ago. That's how it works with trapping pressure... a complete non-issue for muskrat populations

Was scouting a swamp that I trap and was amazed at the sign that I saw wish we had a spring season. It has probably been said on here already but why don't we have a spring season?
