We as sportsmen & trappers fight a never ending battle for the right to access our natural recources such as the adirondack park lands. As private land owners we cannot do anything to alter wetlands even if we "own" them. Then how is it that large development companies and box stores can drain hundreds of acres of marsh land destroying the habitat for many species of wildlife so that they can put in a couple of shopping malls.and then the local towns or counties maintain the drainage ditches that were dug to create them. All this time causing the death of the "downtown" areas of our small tows and cities. And how many of the CEO's of these are members of the same organizations that wouls try to keep us from accessing the areas that we love and support with our tax dollars.

Sorry to be political, it is usually the republicans that will let a Walmart drain a swamp to make a buck while the liberals will fight it from happening.

Marshrat you make an interesting point and your statement is correct. If you look into it further thow it can be seen more often than not that the libs are more or less protectionist againts everything. It is also a fact that the libs tend to be urban people that want the rural people to fall inline with their thinking with the rural landscape.Dont forget that by far the greatest "green" president we ever had was Richard Nixon. As far as NYS there isnt enough differance in a rep or a dem to shake a stick at,but we as trappers do not ever want to see the dems take control of the state senate.

seems there would be a difference between public and private... you know rights and all concerning access drained or un-drained no matter what.... i imagine there's a lot of matters... environmental impact reviews and all by the state, in regards to draining wet lands
state and county governmental reviews... county planning departments, town planning and zoning boards and such, special interest, public hearings.... lol... i would just like to know... exactly where are the private rights... lol.... no-trespass, liability, taxes.....equity... lol forgot about taxes... jim

The good that Nixon did is often over shadowed by Watergate. For one thing before he became President poison was the most common used way to control much of our wildlife.Think about the long lasting effects that outlawing the use of 1080 had and how things might today 40 yrs later be different. Another thing, look at how much of an impact his presidency is having on todays fur market with the Chinese. By the way I dont take any type of meds for anything, but thanks for your concern.

Dont forget the usuall liberal stand on your right to carry a gun. Herm is correct----everything is OK with the liberals as long as its the way they want it-----Kind-a like that guy in Germany ---Hitler was his name----as long as it was his WAY. ----Persionaly I see no differance in the 2 . Liberals equals Caos. ---- And that will be the down-fall of the U.S.A.

Libs protect everything including their pocket, but i wouldn't put my money on them protecting our civil liberties. If you think everyone involved in clearing acre lots and filling wetlands is a Rep...you are sadly mistaken. I will give credit where credit is due...and Libs get none.
