The Duke 1.75 four coil...a nice little trap. Comes with a stock 4-coil kit and a rod baseplate. Well made, strong springs, rod baseplate that wraps the corner I'm working on a dozen and adding a few "tweaks" to make it even better. #1 - the stock J hook that attaches to the rod baseplate binds very easy and does not allow free movement of the important attchment of the chain to the trap The fix - Remove the stock J hook and replace with a nail J hook with a larger loop to allow full freedom of movement #2 - The rod baseplate is spot welded to the trap The fix - some small welds to strengthen and stiffen the trap. Welds where the rod baseplate wraps the corner will really beef up this area and prevent the jaws from popping out. #3 - stock swivels and frame the fix - weld all J hooks shut and weld the cross frame to the main frame None of these "tweaks" are on the "must be done" list but they make a good trap even better Just wanted to put some Duke mods out there for the do it yourself guys. All easy to do Tom before pics J hook binding corner wrap spot welded rod baseplate after shots New J hook, AFTER the cross was welded, rod baseplate welded BEFORE the cross frame was welded corner wraps beefed up

Tom-- The MB swivel works perfect on it also.Replaced all my originals because of same binding problem. They are pretty stout with that rod support.I did catch a coyote in one and he tweaked the dog side of the baseplate. They are a good trap though in theft areas and if you need some extra traps.I bought mine from the convention for only $71/dz. Any ideas on the dog side base beef-up ? By the way great post. Ed
