Papabear you are giving all the best secrets away. This year I have had great results with vaseline melted down and mixed with 'Red frenzy' and a mink gland lure, as the scent fades a little you can rub the vaseline with a twig and refresh the scent. Water proof and able to smear anywhere.
Great tip though.
All the best

Dear Mr. TrapWorks, I give freely what was freely given to me. I do formulate and compound a few critter attractors that I dont share the formulas to because they are more complex and somewhat expensive to make on a hobby basis. I think making an effective, inexpensive lure would appeal to most who frequent this forum and thats why I offer recipes for simple concoctions. Regards papabear

I was only pulling your leg Papabear. I too am happy to share any small knowledge I may have. Over here we don't use such things as Beaver castor or skunk. Mainly I make up things like bacon grease or goose fat mixed with tuna oil, it makes a very good lure too, but this year I imported some lure from the USA and am trialling them.
All the best
