Anybody know the conditions on cayuga lake??? Water level, Smelt running yet, ?? Also does anybody know where I could find a run of smelt ?

It would be a long ride for you all the way from Bainbridge; but the Fulton Chain Lakes have good runs into the small feeder streams after Ice out; usually end of April. Particuarly 4th Lake. You can get em' through the Ice right now! on tiny jigs...

The smelt are pretty much gone on Cayuga Lake....all the Finger Lakes for that matter, zebra & quagga mussels wiped them out. The only Lake that has a decent run anymore is Owasco, but the window of timing is very short.

man do i hate zebra muscles.. Last time i knew fingerlakes had them but i would emagine your right dale.. Your there more than i am

Smelt are running right now up in Inlet / Eagle Bay!!
