Here's a trick out of the O'Gorman book Take a bridger #2 and replace the stock pan with a Bridger #3 pan. Easy and quick to do and produces a larger pan area . No interference with the levers

never cared to use a larger pan on anything but a mink trap. I want a coyotes foot centered in the trap, on a small pan rather than off center on a large pan.

Could be why those KB's I use have a centered paw about 90% of the time....never thought of it that way Jim

I like how low the pan sits on the KB's...well below the jaws, much like a Jake trap

Thanks. Do you think laminates work better on the outside or inside of the jaw?

With the 5 3/4" inside restriction in NY.....I prefer outside lams

I've been considering doing this with the 8 dozen brand new bridger no.2 os. mods i have sitting in the garage. Do you find that it's worth it? that it really makes a difference? do you do this with all your predator traps? Where do you order your no. 3 pans?

The idea came from Craig O'Gorman in his "Hoofbeats of a Wolfer" book. He likes the bigger pan area which is why he uses steel screen on his larger traps for k-9's. Look at those big pans on jakes, sterlings, etc I have done it for myself and for customers. Bridger parts are available from most of the trap suppliers. Many times you can post a WTB on T-man trap shed and pick some up cheaper from a trapper that traded out for PIT pan systems The nice thing is if you find you don't like it, you can always switch back easily. If for K-9's, pm Zags for his opinion...he seems to have that k-9 thing figured out. LOL www.fntpost.com/Products/Bridger+Coil+Spring+Trap+Parts/Bridger+Coil+Spring+Replacement+Pans+(Each)Tom
