I am thinking of dabling in baits, anyone have a simple mouse bait they would like to share? I was thinking of having a ground paste type. If you grind do you grind the hair and everything?
Thanks,
Andy

Andy: Dont get stuck on jest meat baits for coyotes----or for that matter fruit baits---- or any other baits-----the darn things will eat jest about anything----I think you will find they are opportunist----BUT do prefer different menues through the year. Back in the bounty and nuisance days I used Smuckers Grape Jelly as a clean up bait---and many payed the price for there love of grapes. What I am trying to tell you is keep your mind open---an LOOK into every coyote scat you find.( I think the R.R. scat studdy found coyotes ate deer 365 days a year.) Might be something to think about. Good luck with the mice bait.

I'm no expert, but I never grind mice for bait. I freeze them whole in a gallon ziplock and take them out as needed. let a few thaw and use them once thawed. Sometimes I add a little lure to them, sometimes I use them on their own. Just stuff them down the hole and give them a little tamp with the handle of your trowel. they work all year long.
