This is one of my Dad's favorite sets, and I cannot run a line without this set somewhere. I was hesitant about using it. Dad insisted and BANG! We started out using it strictly for coyotes, but now use for fox also. For me it is difference in the height of the stick. I have only ever used gland lure. To me I want the rubbing instinct from the animal.

Lonny, difference in height of stick -- What heights for which species? Inquiring minds want to know! Thanks, - Tim

Afox eye level is different than a coyotes eye level. Try to picture how tall both stand. I try to imagine between shoulder and eye level. They do approach stuff slightly lowered or coward down.

If you were to use the side of a large stick, do you think you could put a trap under lure at say 18" for coyote and then one under lure at 12", both on drags, and have a shot at either/both?

I'm going to make a couple this weekend. I bet this type set works well when there's snow on the ground.

Mr Mattison, I like this set alot and believe it to be one of the best fat sets. I plan on using it a lot this season and am also trying to develope a rub/ lick lure tailored for this set. I will be testing a lure soon and will let everyone know the results. Great thread.
