I've never heard of that. I have on occasion had a trap shy fox or coyote usually if it's a digger, I will make 2 dirt hole sets at a 45 degree angle from each other and 1 trap guarding the holes, basically it's a dirthole set with an additional hole off to the side. I always use the same bait though. It's a little extra work but it usually does the trick. I never had a name for it. I always thought I had invented it.

I've been making a similar set for years after reading about it in a Charlie Dobbins book., but only 1 trap not 3...I make a 3 hole dirthole set with something different in each hole. The idea is that the fox will be moving his feet all over the place going back and forth between those three holes and get caught.

Same as Dale, got it from Dobbins book. . A KILLER SET!!!!!!!!!!! I have a battery drill with about 18" long 1" bit. Bed trap 1st. Drill three holesabout 4 1/2 or 5 inched deep. Drop in 3 shotgun shells with different attractants ( lure or bait or urine don't matter! ). The shell is the perfect holder 'cause it's free and holds up for MONTHS in any weather. You never have to re-lure. I have come back in the summer and k 9's are still tryin' to figure out how to get at those shells.
