Yoteguts, arent the squirrel guns the best! Maybe you can give some advice on a coyote running 3 of my sets and diggin/flippin the traps. Traps are 100% clean odor free and bedded as solid as I can. Im starting to think maybe my trap or pan doesnt have enough dirt over it. Is half inch enough? Dont know what else it could be. Would placement have anything to do with him detecting it? I know this question is like beating a dead dog but Im interested in different oppinions.
Thanks! Mike.

First are you positive it's a yote? Coons are very bad about that.Bed solid and cover with plenty of dirt.1/2" to 3/4" and make the lowest spot right over the pan.Use some subtle guiding. Don't go overboard just make the spot were your pan is the best place to step.Don't let a digger get you down. He isn't smart he actually the opposite if he keeps coming back to mess with your set the odds aren't in his favor. If all else fails watch where his tracks are and add a second trap or move the one at the set. This one was digging a remake up from behind the set. Big male. two nights in a row. Sifted dirt behind the set so I could see where he was standing and added a second trap.Third night problem solved.
