I was recently given permssion to trap raccoons on a farmers property. so far i have had great luck with my favorite bait, a bluegill/clam oil/honey mix. my only worry is that some of the barn cats will also like this treat. so is there anyway to help detrer them or just carefully set my traps farther fromthe barn and hope?

Welcome to the Forum! You'll never deter cats using a fish based bait, but setting further away from the barn will certainly help. You can try and use a sweet type bait or use cage or DP (Dog-proof) traps if you want to keep using a fish bait but not worry about the cats.
