Only if you're trapping woodchucks with all other furbearer's seasons closed

The reason I asked is because woodchucks are not a protected species. If you are trapping woodchucks, and it is between February15th and October 25th, then that is a different story. But if you are trapping K9's, I hear that is a killer set, especially in the winter months.

reg doesnt specify that deeply, cant imagine foot holds at woodchuck holes violates anything, but best bet would be call local DEC office i guess, i do know ive got about half a dozen woodchuck holes behind my barn and every time any local fox pass thru (based on tracks in snow) they seem to poke their nose in every one of them holes
