Got the opportunity to go out on a charter (Rebel Charters) on Lake Ontario and had an absolute blast. This was something I had never done before with the down riggers, lead core line and dipsy divers and eat caught fish. We had 2 big kings on that we lost and we caught 11 smaller fish in total (10 kings up to 6lbs and a brown that went about 6lbs). All in all, I phenomenal trip with Rebel Charters out of Sandy Creek, I would do it again in a heart beat! Enjoy! My dad with a 6lb brown The big one that got away! A king that was jumping like crazy! The biggest king..

Lake Ontario fishing has been hot this year. I live near Olcott at the Western end of the lake. Lots of browns, chinook, coho's, steelhead, - everything this year. Many salmon in the high 20's and over 30lbs. all season long. I talked with one charter captain last week and they had 20+ fish (all browns) in close to shore in about 2 hrs time while filming a TV show. Another was out yesterday in 4-6 ft waves. Once he got to his destination, the 4 guys he had onboard were throwing fish back and then limited out in about 45 minutes. Several doubles and triples were on. It's been a great year, glad you had a good time.

I have already booked another charter for August 18th, so I'm hoping they will start staging up a little bit. It was tough saturday as the we found bait on our first pass and the second pass only yeilded 2-3 pods and then we didn't find a single pod of bait after. We covered lots of ground, but just couldn't find the bigger fish. Try try try again...kinda like trapping!!!
