just looking for some help on construction of some pine martin boxes for traps. I've seen on videos a "v" shaped box attached to trees with what looks like a 110 body grip attached at the very end. If this is ok does anybody have any dimensions fro this. Also the martin must be sealed but if I read the rules correct I need to bring the entire animal to DEC before skinning?? is this right. thanks were new to this and just trying to get everything correct.

yes the whole animal has to be brought to a DEC officer or you can also call a local officer and they will come to your house and tag them.

The pine marten carcass (after skinning) must be turned in when you get your pelt sealed. When you get your marten permit before the season, you'll find 6 carcass tags as well as the furbearer possession tags. Lots of paperwork, but it's so DEC can gather information about the animals. 120 boxes should be 6"x6" at the mouth, I make mine about 10-12" deep.

Call the Warrensburg DEC office 518-623-1240 and ask them to send you a marten permit... you can ask them about getting your kids permits as well
